The purchase of the six-office Title One Inc., operation in Minnesota, increases the Wisconsin-based company presence in its neighboring state, especially in the bustling Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Title One’s headquarters are in Bloomington. It also has offices in Apple Valley, Maple Grove, Ramsey, Roseville and Woodbury. Counting the six new locations, Knight Barry Title now has 13 offices statewide and a total of 45 employees in Minnesota.
Title One has been in business since 1992 and is owned by Lance Plummer. Like Knight Barry Title, Title One takes pride in being an independent title company. Though all staff members are staying on and becoming Knight Barry Title employees, Plummer is exiting the industry after a short transition period. However, he said his customers and employees alike are in great hands going forward.“
"Our same team members are still here; they are just going to have much more support and resources. It’s only going to be a better experience for our customers,” Plummer said. “The vision of COO Craig Haskins and CEO Jeff Green is what sold me. Knight Barry Title is a great organization, and they seem to know everything about the industry when it comes to technology and production.”
While the expansion into a new metro market is important for new business, those who already trust Title One and Knight Barry Title for their residential and commercial transactions in Minnesota will benefit, too. "This is going to help our existing customers, who have deals all around the state and want to stick with one title company to take advantage of the convenience, pricing and service that Knight Barry Title offers,” said Jodi Bach, Knight Barry Title’s Minnesota state manager. “We’re excited to get the Knight Barry Title name out more in Minnesota and keep growing our footprint here.”
Knight Barry Title has also named Amy Kemmerer as the Minneapolis regional manager. In her time with Knight Barry Title, she has proven to be a problem-solving forward thinker who always puts her customers first. January growth in Minnesota is becoming a trend for Knight Barry Title. In the first month of 2018, the company acquired four title agencies south of the Twin Cities. Since then, it has also established operations in Florida and Texas as part of an impressive period of expansion. In total, Knight Barry Title now has 80 offices across five states – Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Florida and Texas and has just gone over the 500 employee mark.
Bach is one of the team members who joined the Knight Barry Title team through that 2018 acquisition. She hopes the Title One team is excited to be part of a company that is innovative, cutting-edge and caring. “Joining Knight Barry was like getting drafted by the Super Bowl-winning team,” Bach said about her own experience. “Knight Barry Title has everything you would want.
